Artist Statement

I work in a variety of acrylic mediums, in an Egyptian theme. I believe places have a perceptible soul. In my artwork, I attempt to interpret this “soul”, the elusive convergence of light, location and time, which makes each place and moment unique. It is this aspect of place, however unattainable and impossible to duplicate in art that continues to inspire me as an artist.

I use the medium of acrylic, because it allows for a fresh and spontaneous application. There is little drying time with acrylic, and it allows me to use a variety of techniques that other mediums do not. I try to be as accurate with my palette as possible, replicating the ancient colors as they might have looked when freshly painted. I want to make a piece that is as meaningful and unique as one done by the ancient artists themselves.

I am a member and support Allied Arts In Richland Washington.
